The Manager of Development Data is responsible for overseeing the collection, management, integrity, and analysis of organizational data. This role ensures data systems operate efficiently, support strategic goals, and provide accurate reporting. The Manager facilitates integration across ticketing, email marketing, and financial systems, supervises data professionals, and partners with cross-functional teams to implement best practices that inform decision-making and advance the organization’s mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Database Management (RE NXT)

  • Serve as the primary administrator for the Institutional Advancement database (RE NXT).

  • Ensure the integrity, consistency, and security of data through maintenance, audits, enrichment, and normalization.

  • Perform advanced hygiene tasks, including standardization, deduplication, access reviews, and structuring for accurate reporting.

  • Maintain compliance with privacy regulations (e.g., CCPA, GDPR) and audit standards in collaboration with IT and Legal.

  • Promote equity in data collection, use, and interpretation while implementing continuous improvements.

  • Design, generate, and analyze reports to support operations, fundraising, and strategic initiatives.

  • Provide dashboards, queries, and exports for Institutional Advancements staff, and manage the information request process.

  • Import, export, and analyze data to ensure complete, accurate records.

  • Lead system enhancements, evaluate third-party integrations, and coordinate new tool implementations.

  • Liaise with HR on data imports (e.g., staff and volunteer data).

  • Participate in the Development Operations Advisory Committee, maintaining code tables, data mapping, and global changes.

  • Develop and document data entry, maintenance, and quality control policies.

  • Train staff on system best practices, reporting tools, and data interpretation.

Ticketing System (ACME)

  • Serve as departmental “power user” for the ACME ticketing system.

  • Generate and analyze reports to support operations and donor/member engagement.

  • Manage donor and member data exports for reporting and integration into other platforms.

  • Ensure imported/exported ticketing data is accurate, standardized, and aligned with advancement needs.

  • Collaborate with IT, Visitor Services, and Membership on data quality and integration.

  • Develop policies and procedures for ticketing data management and train staff accordingly.

Supervision

  • Supervise and support data entry professionals (team of three).

  • Assign priorities, monitor workflow, and ensure data integrity and confidentiality.

  • Provide training, guidance, performance feedback, and evaluations.

  • During peak periods, assist with data and gift entry as needed.

Other

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, data science, business analytics, or related field; or 5+ years of experience managing relational databases/data systems, preferably in a fundraising environment.

  • Proficiency with CRM platforms (e.g., RE NXT or similar), ticketing systems (e.g., ACME or similar), and data tools (e.g., Excel, ImportOmatic, Power Automate, SAP Crystal Reports, etc).

  • Strong leadership skills with a proactive approach to process improvement.

  • Excellent analytical ability, attention to detail, and time management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong written, verbal, and active listening skills; ability to explain data processes in user-friendly terms.

  • Knowledge of data privacy laws and best practices; ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.

  • Ability to work effectively with senior management, peers, and staff from diverse backgrounds.

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.

Supervision Received:

Receives general supervision by the Director of Development Services

Supervision Exercised:

Provides general direction and task supervision to Gift Entry Associates and Gift Entry Coordinator.

Work Hours and Shift:

35 hours/week

Hybrid Eligibility: Eligible

Pay Range: 74,000-75,000
