As a member of the School Learning Experiences team, the Bilingual Field Trip Experiences Facilitator’s primary role is to provide programmatic support for a variety of School Learning programs for Pre-K-12th grade students, particularly for field trips to the museum. The Bilingual Field Trip Experiences Facilitator sits in the Education and Public Programs division and reports to the Manager of Field Trip Learning Experiences. They work closely with members of the School Learning Experiences team, the Public Learning Experiences team, the Education and Public Programs Program Assistants, and the Visitor Services Department. The position is responsible for facilitating the welcoming process for all Pre-K-12th grade Illinois student groups that visit the museum on field trips, facilitating learning experiences at the museum, supporting school partnership programs, and supporting off-site events for schools in both English and Spanish. As a Bilingual Facilitator, this position is also responsible for translating existing and future programming materials to support Spanish-speaking audiences.

Ability to interact positively with people of different backgrounds
Pedagogical knowledge of best practices in education and state and national core standards preferred
Ability to solve problems flexibly in a fast-changing environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills with friendly & professional demeanor
Ability to work independently
Experience working with an education-based non-profit organization or equivalent experience preferred
This position works directly with the general public, Pre-K-12th grade students, and Field Museum members, partners, and supporters. Candidates must enjoy welcoming, engaging, and interacting with both individuals and groups of all ages in a fast-paced environment
Ability to translate materials into Spanish from English and to review preexisting or autogenerated translations
Spanish language fluency and comfort communicating with Spanish-speakers of many dialects and regional linguistic variations
Lead small groups of campers through museum spaces
Support setting up, tearing down, moving activities and materials for camp programming
Support campers moving through the building during camp activities or when they arrive late
Support lunch breaks for camp staff and campers
Support the process of children and their families dropping off and picking up throughout the summer season for check in and check out
Support the summer camp program by preparing materials and learning spaces before and after camp events
Facilitate or support facilitation of camp curriculum and learning programs throughout the summer sessions to Pre-K-8th grade audiences
